I come to this cafe sometimes. This pateculer location is on Footfill and Rosemead along 210 fwy inside of a shooping mall next to an Island restaurant.
Panera Bread is a franchise( I think) cafe. They serve coffee and food such as american soup, sandwitch, and salad kind of deal.
I personally like this place because…
- More spacious than starbucks
- You can have a meeting with a bigger space
- Music is not loud.
- Air Conditioning is not too cold. ( I think starbucks try to freeze or leave people)
- You can eat REAL food (not cookies and snacks)
- FREE wireless connection is available
There are the reasons. Unfortunately, they don’t have many locations as starbucks does. Well they are TOO MANY…. I live in middle of Los Angeles, but they have only West L.A. or Pasadena.. nothing in L.A.
Anyway, if you are planing a meeting for few hours, this place is for you.
Costa mesa where I used to live is a very cozy and safe city. People are casual enough to be down to earth and still educated enough to talk.
This cafe, Milk and Honey is located inside of The Camp on Bristol and Baker. You don’t get many choice of sitting. There are only few tables and probably become full under 20 people. I didn’t see any food menu, but they do serve cookies and biscottis. I ordered some shaved ice because I was tired of coffee drinks. On this ice, you can add some toppings and make it really nice. If it was a hot afternoon, it would have tasted better.
I saw mixed demography of customers, race, age group and sex. They have a good mix of all kind of people. Well I didn’t see older people. I guess it’s simple because The Camp primary has age groups of late 20’s to 40’s.
Since me and my business partner lived too long in Costa Mesa, we are both tired of other cafes. This place would be our new meeting place for a while..
Urth cafe which serves organic grown coffee and great quality food, is a very popular cafes around Los Angeles county. I went to one of their stores in Los Angeles downtown today. This is their newest branch and I suppose this is their headquarter. It has a big baking machine and produce their bakery here and deliver to other branches throughout L.A.
I had a lunch here with my very beautiful ex-roommate/friend to catch up things in our lives.
Urth Italiana latte and moca
Whenever you order beverages with form, they draw these beautiful paint on the top of coffee mugs. This petacular drink Urth Italiana contain very strong caffeine. If you like dark coffee, you would love it.
sandwich, salad, and chili
My main lunch was Their Combo special. you get to choose a sandwich with salad and soup. It made me full. Since they bake breads at the site. they are very fresh with very chewy!
My friend ordered a panini with spinach salad. She gave me a piece of them. I liked it’s garlic batter. It was very tasty. Be honestly, she had better choice than me. Mine wasn’t bad. Just I liked hers better.. shhh
I took a picture of their baking machines. they are brand new and the kitchen(and cafe) was very clean.
Urth cafe has been always one of my favorite places to eat and hang out. I noticed this location is more spacious oppose to that other locations have tighter spacing between tables. AND you have less problem with parking!! it’s important.
When I was in New York, Me and my family was hungry for Chinese food. We went to a Chinese restaurant, Oriental Garden. I found this restaurant on the Japanese book, New York no Kyujitsu. The book was recently published and the author highly recommended to go. So We tried.
It’s located off Canal St. on Elizabeth st. Since we stayed in Soho. Oriental Garden was a walking distance.
Their food was GREAT!! good price, big portion, and good taste. If I lived in N.Y., This Oriental Garden would be my favorite place to go!

Our family always take the same dish at Chinese restaurant, but we decided to break the rule. Here was our challange! Cloud ear with vegie appetizer. Well, we were glad our challange.
Egg and corn soup
This is our favorite. Since we took an adventure on appetizer, we ordered our conservative favorite soup for all the time. Well, it was very delicous!!
Chinese Fried Rice
I am a type of a person who rarely live without rice. We had a small discussion weather if we took fried rice or noodle. This was a winner.

This is a Taiwanese tapioca tea cafe. You see familiar kind of business a lot in Chinese area like Tapioca Express. it offers free wireless Internet access with a lot of chairs. So, it’s a good hang-out place for locals.
As you can expect, the most of the customers are Asian.
I ordered a tapioca milk tea, very basic, right? I like the taste of tapioca. it’s sweet. You might be tired of eating it if you have much. but, you can taste sweetness of black sugar. And their tapioca has good chewiness.(well, it might depends on day.)
